To Call My Own

Hoping for a fresh start, Dr. Karis Henry accepts a position in Harbor, Missouri, a small, underserved town by Feather Lake. The long hours and demands of the community clinic are just what she needs – a way to bury the memories and control the pain. But the moment Clay Montes shows up, her plans fall to pieces.

Clay is a changed man who wants to right the wrongs of his past; at least, that’s what he says. Why else would he work for a nonprofit and live in a camper? But he’ll have to do a whole lot more than open his mouth because Karis isn’t listening.

Her wounds are deep. Will the truth bring healing or cause more harm?

Reviews

A heartwarming story about love and faith. To Call My Own is a realistic novel that is an easy read and heartwarming stories within a story about a broken family, romance, and faith. Ms. Cleveland captured her own unique style and depth in each character, places, and things. Her style and technique in writing is right up there next to the very best of writers. I will look forward to her next novel.

A reminder that no matter our journey in this path in life, redemption is always available. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Joy Cleveland wrote of real characters living real lives with real struggles and the love, mercy and redemption offered by a real God!

Superb! To Call My Own was a gentle, heart warming, page turner, that I quickly became immersed in! The story, the characters, and the personal touches of the author, were sensational from beginning to end. I'm ready for her next book! Highly recommended.

About

Author Joy Cleveland writes Small Town Contemporary Christian Romances that will warm your heart, feed your soul, and quite possibly tickle ‘your funny bone.’ A product of small town living, Joy strives to craft characters that feel like family and places that feel like home. Currently, she calls Iowa home. When she’s not tapping computer keys, she’s playing with grandkids, mowing, or chasing her dog. Occasionally, she also torments her husband with squash. A lover of words, she’s published short stories, plays for children, and quirky newsletters. “To Call My Own’ is her first novel.

A few of my favorite things:
  • Tea
  • Flowers
  • Chocolate
  • Grandbabies
  • Sunsets
  • Museums
  • Bottoms (as in biscuits, heavily buttered)
  • Mountains
  • Dogs
  • Kids
  • Humor
  • All things whimsical
  • And (of course) a good book
